Joe Schwarz is a Certified Chef and the "hands on" owner of C.B. Joe's. His commitment to using high quality ingredients and his desire to serve the greatest tasting barbecue at a reasonable price is what drives C.B. Joe's. You'll sometimes find him in the kitchen creating new menu items for the customers to sample. Recent examples are the BBQ Pasta, (now on the menu) and the Potato Puppies (not on the menu but coming soon!).

Joe is a past President with the St. Louis Restaurant Association and is still active with the association. St. Louis Mayor, Francis Slay issued a proclamation on January 11, 2007, the day of Joe's presidential inauguaration as "Joseph Schwarz Day".

His passion for good food drove him to become a judge for the Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest.

Joe, has his open pit barbecue perfected as only a barbecue chef with a love of food can. In addition to a variety of smoked and grilled meats the side dishes and desserts are made on site. He likes to make you feel right at home in the wooded area of Bonne Terre, Missouri and he'll often check personally to see that you are enjoying your meal.
